The Road to Stella Maris
Installation, crochet, stitching, collage; Variable dimensions: 218 cm x 145 cm x 223 cm (86 in × 57 in × 88 in), 2025
The title of this work evokes the movement from the secular to the sacred world. Stella Maris– the star of the sea– protects sailors, guides explorers, and helps those who seek guidance move forward on their paths. Emphasizing journey and movement, symbols such as the compass rose, stars, sea, and wind sit alongside portholes, pathways, reflections and gateways to represent navigating a pathway to the sacred realm.
